v0.9 · out of beta for S19 / S21 series

ASIC Refinery.

Chip-level auto-tuning overlay for ASIC fleets — no flash, no dev fee.

Refinery sits on top of ePIC, Bixbit, Braiins OS+, LuxOS and stock Whatsminer firmware to squeeze extra efficiency out of Antminer and MicroBT rigs. Pick a goal — J/TH or $/day — and a continuous target-seeking tuner rewrites per-chip voltage and power limits in lockstep with BTC price and your power rate.

Why Refinery

Auto-tuning without the trade-offs you’ve been told to accept.

Custom firmware unlocks headroom — and locks you in. Pool-side tuning scripts centralize control — and lose the chip. Refinery keeps your stack, takes the heavy lifting off your ops team, and pays for itself in power savings.

Per-chip tuning

The weakest cell no longer caps the strongest one.

Most tuners move one global frequency slider. Refinery walks a vector of voltage and power limits around the Si chip itself — across every hash board, every bank — so the worst cell no longer cap the best one. The result is a flatter, tighter efficiency distribution and a higher usable hashrate from the same hardware.

Continuous seeker

No step profiles. No tables.

Pick a goal — J/TH efficiency, $/day after power, or hash per kWh. The tuner sweeps toward it in real time and re-plans the operating point on every cycle as the world changes around your fleet.

Non-invasive

Outbound-only tunnel. Nothing flashed.

A lightweight on-prem agent opens an outbound-only WireGuard tunnel to the cloud control plane. No inbound firewall changes, no firmware replacement, no manufacturer warranty voided.

How it works

Four steps. Nothing is written until step three knows it’s safe.

  1. 01

    Pull a topology snapshot

The on-prem agent reads the firmware’s existing telemetry: per-chip V/F tables, temperatures, reported hashrate, pool luck. Nothing is written yet.

  2. 02

    Choose a target

J/TH target, $/day floor, or a fixed hashrate with minimum efficiency. The tuner takes its direction and a safe operating envelope from your fleet policy.

  3. 03

    Sweep toward the optimum

A continuous, bounded search — small V/P nudges, watched for reject rates, temps, and power draw. The tuner backtracks the moment a chip goes unstable.

  4. 04

    Lock it in

Settled values are written back per-chip with a versioned history. Roll back a single chip, a board, or a whole rig with one click.

Every step is gated by a watchdog: pool rejects, intake temp, or power draw outside your fleet policy pauses the sweep and rolls back to the last accepted operating point.

Compatible firmware

Already on one of these? You’re minutes away from running Refinery.

Refinery talks to your firmware’s existing control plane — no reflashing, no migration. The agent speaks the manufacturer’s native API for each of the five stacks below, and falls back to read-only when a vendor API is incomplete.

FAQ

The questions a farm ops manager asks on day one.

No. Refinery is an overlay — it talks to your existing firmware (ePIC, Bixbit, Braiins OS+, LuxOS, or stock Whatsminer) over the API it already exposes. Your machines stay on the firmware you chose.
